Is your Secret more then Peanut Butter is Made From Peanuts?

There are mixed feelings amongst the general population regarding home based businesses. Some feel that running a home based business is too hard while others feel that those who are engaged in home based business are too lazy to work the public sector or that the businesses being ran are scams. All opinions unfortunately hold some truth.

Running a home based business is hard, especially in its birthing phase. To get a home based business up and running successfully you have to be willing to put a lot of hard work into it and even after it is up and running successfully if you are not willing to bring in extra help you can find yourself overworked constantly. If you are a passive person, a home based business probably is not the best option for you. You need to have a high energy level as well as a strong desire to succeed.

No matter what line of work or where that work is located you are going to find lazy people. Yes, there are many people who “say” they work from home while in fact they are laid up on the couch watching reruns, soaps, or the shopping network. Granted this type of behavior is not making them money or their “home based business” successful. This is a small percentage of people who work home based business, yet even the small amount that behave in this manner gives home based businesses a bad name.

The opinion that all home based business are scams to weasel money out of others, although holds some truth in some, but again, not in as many as the general public envisions. Scams are everywhere in all lines of work from either employees skimming from the pot to straight downright scams such as in some fake auto repairs. Best rule of thumb for any consumer is to double check and if it sounds too good to be true, more then likely it is. The same goes with getting into a home based business. If a home based business in a franchise offers overnight success you can bet that is a lie otherwise everyone would be doing it. No matter how much they claim they are the biggest kept secret, when it is posted all over the net you can bet their big secret they are wanting to give you for a “mere” $59.99 is no more a secret then peanut butter is made from peanuts.

  1. I don't think it matters whether you are working at a 9 to 5 office job or working your own business at home. There are 3 things you need to be successful in either and that is motivation, energy and a desire to succeed. I just think it is more desireable to work for myself at home.

  2. I see those ads for 'the biggest kept secret' all the time. I can't believe anyone would fall for them. I guess someone is or they wouldn't still be in business.

  3. I want to talk to anyone who thinks home based businesses are run by lazy people. They don't know anything. I work harder for myself than I ever did in the public sector.

  4. Surely no one thinks that there aren't scams in every business. I find it insulting to think that anyone would believe that home businesses are all scams. Take a walk down the street in any town and you'll find funny business going on everywhere.

  5. Businesses that copy other businesses, whether the first was successful or not, will never go anywhere. They are a dime a dozen and will never create serious income. I tried a couple and they went nowhere. Income was minimal. Now I've gone into an entirely new direction and am making a pretty decent living. Not easy, but decent.

  6. I think the easy job is the 9 to 5 in an office full of people doing the same thing you are. It's easy to put in a relatively easy day without raising so much as an eyebrow. Try that with your own business and you'll be back in that office in no time. Not where I want to be.....

  7. "I have a secret and if you pay me $19.95 I will tell you how you too can have my secret and make money!" Too funny! SCAM written all over it!
